SIP PREFAB - the power of screws for lifting panels

SIP roof panels are lifted with 4 brackets which are screwed to the SIP upper OSB face. With 16 screws per bracket this gives a total of just 64 screws which is sufficient to lift some large roof sections.

With my bach at Castle Hill we had roof sections made up of 4x1220mm wide SIP panels which were 3.1m long. These brackets lifted the 4.9m x 3.1m sections of roof with ease.

The screws are quick to attached and remove and the guys had two sets so while one panel was being lifted into place another on the truck was being rigged up saving Hiab time.

Minimising the number of site panel joints also saves a lot of Hiab time.

For the wall panels Irving Builders had bespoke brackets made and these will be subject to another post.
