IS NOW THE TIME TO BUILD? THE ANSWER IS YES

There is alot of negative messaging at the moment from media and government about the state of the economy.

So is this a good time to build?

Well the answer is yes but unless you are prepared you cannot build straight away.

All building projects need to go through a number of stages before you can start your build. These stages in order are:

1 - Brief
2 - Design
3 - Documentation
4 - BuildingConsent
5 - Builder procurement
6 - Finance

As you can see there is alot to do before the diggers get to site. All these stages take time and they should not be rushed if they are to be done properly.

So if you wait until you believe the time is right to start your project you will be many months or even years away from being able to start your build. By the time you get into the build things may have changed again.

Therefore, what do you do?

Well as the saying goes "keep calm and carry on". If we all act in a positive way, if we all continue to progress up the tree trunk then we can change the negative narrative to one that is more positive.

By moving your project through the stages I have identified, by the time everyone else decides it is time to take action you will be ahead of the game. Like the boy in the image you will have the pick of the coconuts.

The image is of me in 1970 climbing a coconut palm at the beach in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

I'm Graeme Jacobs an architect who works with clients who want to get things done. Clients who value a trusted advisor who can assist them in every stage of their project.

Make contact if this sounds like you, I would love to discuss your project.
